The Brief

Inteforge needed a comprehensive record of over 20 years of engineering and fabrication projects — a premium printed publication that documented every major job, the scope of work delivered, and the scale of what was built. This wasn't a brochure or a capabilities statement. It was a definitive project history book for one of Australia's most respected engineering firms.

The scale was significant. Two decades of work meant many projects across mining, oil and gas, infrastructure, and heavy industry — each with its own technical challenges, logistics, and deliverables. Pulling all of that together into a single, well-structured publication was a huge undertaking.

Our Approach

Media Mechanic had been Inteforge's go-to creative partner for years — and critically, we had shot most of the photography used throughout the book. This wasn't local work alone. Over the years, we travelled to China, Vietnam, Houston Texas, and project sites all over Australia to capture Inteforge's operations wherever the work was happening. And photography was only one part of the brief — on each trip we were also filming, producing video case studies for individual products and projects. From workshop floors and fabrication yards to remote mine sites and offshore installations, we'd been on the ground documenting their work across both stills and motion. That library of authentic, high-quality content became the backbone of the publication.

We worked closely with Inteforge's leadership to structure the content — organising projects by sector, scale, and timeline, and pulling together the key data points, specs, and deliverables for each one. From there, we developed a design system that balanced striking full-bleed photography with clean typography, detailed project summaries, timeline graphics, and technical specs.

Every spread was designed to make the work speak for itself — mixing photo-driven pages with infographic-style layouts and clear project data. Having shot the photography ourselves over the years gave us a deep understanding of the subject matter, which meant the design and the imagery worked together naturally rather than feeling disconnected.

We managed the entire project from concept through to print-ready files and press proofing.

"Tony and the team have been out on our sites for years — they understand the work, the conditions, and the people. When it came time to put the book together, nobody else could have done it. They had the photos, they knew the stories. The end result is something we're genuinely proud to hand to a client."
— Martin Cauble, Operations Manager, Inteforge

The Outcome

The finished work history book has become a centrepiece of Inteforge's client-facing materials — used in tenders, meetings, and corporate events to communicate credibility and depth in a way that a brochure or website simply can't. It tells the story of 20+ years of engineering excellence through the lens of the people and projects that built it.

And the project doesn't end at print. The book is updated every year with new projects and milestones, keeping it current and ensuring it continues to grow alongside the business. It's a living document — not a one-off.

The photography and design have also been repurposed across Inteforge's broader marketing — from social media content and proposals to internal communications — extending the value of the project well beyond the printed page.
